?What is the minimum information required in a pipeline product RFQ?
Provide the product name, size, quantity, installation position, medium, temperature, pressure, connection type, flange standard, installation length, destination and Incoterm. Expansion products also require movement direction and movement amount.
?How can I request a quotation when I do not know the exact product name?
Send site photographs, an existing nameplate, piping drawings and dimensional information. Also explain the installation position, medium, pressure and end connections. A photograph alone may not identify every technical requirement.
?Why is the actual pipe outside diameter required?
Pipes with the same nominal size may have different outside diameters under different materials and dimensional standards. Flange adaptors and steel flexible couplings normally seal around the actual pipe outside diameter.
?Is it sufficient to state only FOB or CIF in an RFQ?
No. Include the named port or place, such as FOB a specified Chinese port or CIF a specified destination port. The exact location affects freight, delivery responsibility and quotation scope.
?Are drawings required for customized pipeline products?
They are strongly recommended. Non-standard installation lengths, special flanges, combined movement, special materials and rehabilitation projects usually require drawing confirmation. Drawings should include units, revision and date.
?What should be compared after receiving quotations?
Compare the product construction, materials, dimensions, connection standards, accessories, packing, delivery time, documents, inspection, Incoterm and technical assumptions—not only the total price.
